I’m still on the fence about Osvaldo. He could easily turn out to be an average player.

De Silvestri and Cigarini are very promising.

Russotto has always been hyped as the next big thing and he has the talent, but at Treviso he’s just not showing it. Hopefully this summer he moves to a team that will finally make him be able to show the quality he has.

Balotelli is out of the list for ”bureaucratic” reasons only. But he deserves to be on there i’ll give you that. But no way in hell would he be #1 on this list.

Russotto more than deserves this spot, the only reason he’s not getting the same media hype as the other kids is because he’s in Serie B. Russotto, Osvaldo and De Silvestri are the most promising players on this list in my opinion.

And i consider G. Rossi and Montolivo to be established players, they’ve passed the ”prospect” brand a long time ago.

I’m just sayin, that he’s more ITALIAN than he is Ghanian…I mean, the kid has lived here his whole life and has already rejected call-ups from Ghana numerous times.

He will play for the Azzurri at some point. And if the only thing holding him off this list (and probably Rossi too) is the “technicality” aspect, then so be it. Otherwise, he’s #1 on any list in my books.

And yes, I know this is Gil’s list, not Marco’s.

And in Marco’s defense, he’s not the one you should be mentioning Balotelli to:

Yes Lorenzo, that’s what I meant actually. That was me subtly insinuating that Balotelli better not be in the second five, as would be simply dumbfounding. The kid should obviously be with this first group.

So Balotelli’s “technicality” gives Marco an excuse for the omission.
