Goals of the Week
By: chris | February 25th, 2008Stefano Morrone had this thing locked up until Marco Borriello decided to stick his nose into things. There are fillers, four of which came from two games (take a wild guess which ones), but it’s down to these two.
(Oh, and there’s an “Other” choice for anyone who wants to vote for Del Piero’s goal this week.)
The Borriello.
I think Drogba had something incredibly similar to this last season without the extra touch. Phenomenal goal regardless. (One of 3, of course.)
One Video, Two Goals.
Check for Andrea Gasbarroni’s gorgeous free kick into the upper left corner and then Morrone’s run of the mill volley. This was a baaaad week to be Matteo Sereni.
The Placement
I have a feeling Talentino is going to have a regular spot here.
The Rambo
All the power you would expect out of John Rambo.
(Had a tough time omitting Roberto Stellone’s first just because the goal, while going to ground, required so much composure. A lot harder than it looked.)

This is absurd. I am going to write an open letter to theffside.com. This is 2 weeks in row you have left Del Piero off the top 5 goals of the week. How is that possible? His goal this week could easily have come in at # 2. Its not fair.
Seriously though, what a goal by Boriello. It has my vote.

Talentino gets my vote cause it was Inter but an honorable mention to Ale Diamanti’s free kick

For Paolo from Pasquale Bruno: “As for Alessandro Del Piero, don’t go telling me that he is a superstar. If he is, then what were Lothar Matthäus and Careca? Are they extraterrestrials?”

Goal of the week belongs to Alessandro Matri. Cant believe he was not even nominated.

Borriello’s goal was superb, but so was Milanetto’s celebration… he literally kicks Borriello up the arse.
