An Award for Adriano! Woot! Oh, Wait ….
By: Martha | December 4th, 2006
Adriano may be virtually useless on the pitch, but that doesn’t mean he’s being forgotten by the football fans of Italy. In fact, listeners to RAI radio program Catersport voted en masse recently to give him the station’s annual Golden Dustbin Award. Ok, so the award is given to the worst player in Serie A every year, but still — when you’re desperate, hardware is hardware.
Up against stiff competition from fellow Milan-based useless Brazilian Ricardo Oliveira, Adriano nevertheless managed to seize the top spot with almost a third of all votes cast. I’m sure he’s very proud. Also, I hope the awards ceremony doesn’t involve anything even slightly resembling putting the ball in the net. Otherwise, it could get ugly.
