If We Call, Bobo Answers

The king.Barely 48 hours ago, we lit the Bobo Signal in a desperate search for our favorite debauched striker and, lo and behold, he’s surfaced! And no, I don’t mean on the beach, or at a wildly cool bar none of us could even find, let alone drink in — he’s in the actual football news and, just maybe, on his way to Rome.

Sadly for Chris and his follow Romanisti, however, the rumor has it that Bobo is headed to the other side of town, where he’ll make a Shock!Return to Lazio. Depending on who you believe, the club are either in pursuit of the striker — who scored 12 goals in 22 games for the Biancocelesti during the 1998-1999 season — or are being pestered by Bobo himself to give him a contract. No actual salary numbers have been revealed, but Channel 4 suggests the going rate for some Bobo action (thank you, I’ll be here all week) is about £200,000/year, a salary which might make him well-worth taking a flyer on.

From Bobo’s point of view, he wants to play and, while Rome isn’t Milan, surely there have got to be some good places there to party, right? Why the hell not give it a shot?

Oh joy of joys ... Bobo returning to a top Serie A team. (Fingers crossed its true). I can then justify to myself the enormous sums of money I pay per year in subscriptions to various sports channels just for the hope of a glimpse of my hero (I've been short-changed for the last couple of years Bobo, so get your finger out!!). And how clever to play for a team in one of the finest cities in the world which means I can combine my two loves of visiting Italy and watching beefy giacotori. Ding dong!!! And Bobo so suits that sky blue colour ............................

  • You are so right. I will correct the situation tomorrow. I will also make one for "egregious," which I'm sure will get a lot of use as well.

  • Mike, it's not THAT crazy -- it says Claudio Lotito (of Lazio) has told the fans he's going to sign a striker and midfielder, so Bobo fits the former category. Though he could certainly play for the stones in his free time.

I like how channel4 states that Vieri fits the bill for "a striker and a midfielder."

FOR WHAT TEAM? The fkn Rolling Stones?

...why didn't Cristian ever take that gig on the Italian version of "Big Brother" from like two years ago? We should be listening to the pitter-patter of dozens of little Bobos by now (who would all be roughly the same age, separated by a drunken week or so).
