Odds and Ends as We Lose Another One to Jesus

•Suddenly indispensable Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie’s footballing would be nowhere near as good as it is now if he didn’t belong to Jesus.

•Speaking of Jesus, Channel 4 is reporting that His minion Ricky Kaka could forget his commitment to AC Milan and leave Serie A if the violence in calcio continues. C4 have never seen even a Kaka half-story they didn’t like, but he’s not the only one saying things like that these days: New Roma arrival Juan voiced similar concerns today. While he didn’t talk about leaving, Juan did say he was afraid for his family in the stadia, and didn’t think Serie A should resume under the current conditions.

•Pato is better than Ronaldinho, and Milan would beat Barca if the two clubs met in the Champions League final. Carlo Ancelotti has spoken.

•As he likes to do every month or so (And as PalermoSteven mentioned earlier today), Amauri’s agent Mariano Grimaldi has again announced that his client is leaving Palermo, this time over the summer. You can count on it. Seriously. (Zamparini, needless to say, will disagree.)

•According to Corriere dello Sport, both Daniele De Rossi and Alberto Aquilani will shortly be in renewal talks with Roma. De Rossi, whose current contract runs through 2009 and pays him €1.75 million/year, will reportedly be signed through 2013, and see his salary rise to Roma’s non-Totti cap level, namely €2.5 million/year. Aquilani makes only €750,000/season at the moment, and will also be getting a raise with his extension.

•And, speaking of Roma, Francesco Totti claims he could be back in action when his team face Genoa after the international break is over. Maybe.
