WAG of the Week: Samantha De Grenet

Bond girl?

WAGfather Muddia put in a special request for a Quagliarella plaything/girlfriend for today, but since I can’t find a single thing about him ever touching a woman, he’ll have to be put off for a few weeks. That should give him more than enough time to score himself a showgirl — surely there’s a law on the books somewhere dictating that anyone who’s ever scored a brace for the Azzurri immediately gets a model girlfriend.

So, until Quagliarella gets his, you’ll have to make do with Ms. Samantha De Grenet, a woman whose impressive dating resume includes not only an engagement to Pippo Inzaghi (Him AGAIN! What am I missing about this guy? He must be a sex machine of unimaginable proportions. So to speak.), but also stints dating outrageously hot Francescos Totti and Coco (A la her fellow WAG, Manuela Arcuri). A member of some sort of Italian nobility, word on the street is that Samanatha — who, sadly, is now married to someone who doesn’t play football — used to date footballers whenever she wanted publicity; the relationships would sadly often end shortly after she appeared in the paper at the side of her hottie of the moment. But, really, apart from the breaking up part, who can really blame her? Hey, you want to get in the paper, you do whatever works, right? (And at least no blackmailers ever tried to use her to create an argument gay — that’s something.)

Way before she started dating footballers, Samantha was in front of the camera, having won some sort of modeling contest at such a young age (14) that she wasn’t actually eligible to collect the prize. Her youth, however, didn’t cause her any other problems in her career, and she was shortly (And by “shortly” I mean “not before she was legal.”) following the career path of any good WAG by doing nudie calendars and appearing on Italian reality shows. Now an old woman of 36, De Grenet seems to still be making periodic model-y appearances — though getting married and having kids has made her actually want privacy, a disturbing foible upon which her former self would have frowned.
