I like the tops but I just can’t stand the brown shorts at the moment. Maybe they’ll grow on me but I doubt it.

the shirts are pretty sweet! The shorts, not so much,

I thought Italia played pretty poor until the changes were made. Enough of the F’n 433. Do a 442 or a 4312 and that’s that!

We need to for sure ease out a lot of the older players. Too predictable. Not really positive about this tourney, do we ever do good in any tourney besides World Cups??

And finally, I am sorry, that was NOT a penalty on Chiellini

this team will win NOTHING. I would love to tear up as they hold up the trophy like in 06, but it just wont happen. Did you see what happened when the young guns came out? I understand you need experience as well as composure, and some of the youth lack both, but this is just pathetic. Gattuso, camo, toni, Gila ? This is the best we have ? Put in Cassano (well, take him on the team first given he’s the best creative trequartista/striker. Put on giovinco. Hustle only gets you so far, and guys that are not proven winners or are just too old to keep up dont cut it. We have one of the oldest teams in the game, the reason being its so close to the same one we had 4 years ago……

I think people need to relax. Toni was awful…Gilardino was marginal…but you guys can’t be serious when you clamor for guys who are UNPROVEN and YOUNG. We all know that Italy waits on the young guns and for good reason. We didn’t get 4 stars for nothing.

Giovinco, Santon, Balotelli – these are kids for the future. Kids who haven’t even been first team players for their clubs for the whole season, yet some want them starting for the national team? I think we need to relax…because I guarantee you if they were given a shot, they’d largely disappoint the stratospheric expectations some of you have been placing on them.

Oh, I’m a fan of the kits. The tops are MONEY!

If red carding a dude who’s got his straight leg 2 feet from the ground, heading towards another guy’s leg is bullshit, then you are a) 8, b) mentally challenged, c) both.

Everybody should stop complaining about the horns! Africa is getting screwed by war and poverty, and they are getting to host the biggest sports competition in the world; let them celebrate however the hell they want.

Just turn the sound off if it bothers you because listening to alexi (what kind of name is that???) might make your ears bleed anyway.

Weston, they can celebrate, but can they do it without the horns? I agree with Johonna those horns are terrible they emit the sound of a donkey dying a slow painful death. Hopefully FIFA bans them next year because they aren’t manufactured by Coca-Cola or something.

They are annoying but you can’t ban them because of it. I think that they are actually made by cocacola because there is a picture of one in the ad at the beginning of every game. Can we ban alexis lalas?

Tim: you are clearly a U.S. fan, shove it dude!

The U.S. did nothing but play composed defense in the 1st half. In the 2nd half, they got outplayed by Italia, as our team kept attacking left and right while the Americans were on their backs for most of the game. The Italian National Team can’t quite capitalize when it should (remember the Luca Toni, Gillardino misses), plus they were disorganized as they kept losing balls moving forward.

Anyways, This game should have ended 4-1 or 5-1 if it wasn’t for those flaws.

I am both a US fan and an Italian fan. They game should not have been 4-1 or 5-1. Don’t forget Bradley and Altidore miss hit pretty good chances in the first half and the US could have been up 3-0 at the half if we are playing that game. I’m glad that game is over because I get torn when they play.

Me too eric, I was really hoping they wouldn’t suspend or injure each other. I wanted Italy to win because the have a shot, but I wanted the US to prove they can play the big dogs, and Italy to do terrible (and still win) so lippi would make changes. I think it worked out great.

American fans should be very proud, they scored 3 goals. Unfortunately, 2 of those goals were scored by an American playing for Italy. :)

It will be a while before the US can truly play with the big teams. First they need to stop whining and enjoy the game. Second, they need to stop believing that Donovan is their best player, since he can’t even cut it in Europe even by invitation of a former coach. Look at all of the Americans playing in Europe. Howard, for example is a fantastic keeper, and single-handedly kept the score down to 3-1. But with so much still so wrong about American soccer from fans to US Soccer Federation to players, how can one help but cheer for the Azzurri?

Oh, and thumbs down for the kits, can’t wait to see the true blue again!
