Cavani is Hurt? I Blame Caracciolo.
By: Martha | March 30th, 2007
You know how everyone who cares about Palermo was thrilled to hear Andrea Caracciolo sowing his sour grapes last week, announcing he was leaving the club this summer? And how that joy was both because he’s a pain in the ass, but also because a certain Edison Cavani has been so wildly productive in his few appearances that Caracciolo is now nothing more than whining dead weight? Well, temper that glee — Cavani pulled up in training with an injury yesterday, and is a “major doubt” for Sunday’s match with Torino. Doh!
Though there are few details available about how exactly the injury occurred, but I think we all know Caracciolo was somehow involved. I mean, the only way he’s going to get on the pitch at this point is if all the other options breat down, and a “thigh problem” can occur in any number of ways. Perhaps he challenged Cavani to a footrace, without proper warmups! Or a pre-training battle of bicycle kicks, on a surface that just happened to be slick? And, oops, the Uruguayan yanked something. I’m sure Caracciolo was eminently sympathetic, probably helping him off the pitch as he secretly plotted the new ways in which he would be useless on the pitch, come Sunday. Little sneak.

Cavani’s injured??
Ok, happy thoughts- there’s still Brienza and Matusiak. So it’s not definite that Cara will play Sunday.
