Crespo Has Some Anger Issues. Or … Does He?
By: Martha | November 30th, 2006
Apropos of nothing, Hernan Crespo wandered up the a reporter from London’s The Mirror and told him Chelsea is an evil, seething cesspool of hate and anger. Well, that’s (probably) not exactly what happened, but it’s sorta close — now that his one-time teammate Andriy Shevchenko is apparently miserable at Chelsea, Crespo is taking the opportunity to whine a little bit about how bad life was for him in London. Because if he can’t fit in, no one can, right? And certainly no other high level attackers should ever, ever make a move to London. Isn’t that right, Mr. Drogba?
Ahem. That said, however, it really is sort of alarming to see how many big name players have struggled recently at Chelsea: Crespo, Sheva, Veron, Mutu, Kezman … Sure, it’s mostly because the transition to a new city and style of play is difficult, and because Abromovich has so much money he buys everyone whose name he recognizes, but still. That list does sorta give one pause, doesn’t it?
