Dhorasoo’s Career Nearly Over. Again.

By: Martha | July 27th, 2007

Poor, lost VikashFor a few weeks there, things were going so well. Vikash Dhorasoo could tell people he was a professional footballer again, his picture was (and still is) proudly displayed at the top of the Livorno website, and he was ready to prove Paris Saint-Germain wrong for dismissing him — lack of fitness and production were going to be things of the distant past.

Until, that is, he got to training. At that point, things started going precipitously downhill — apparently Livorno expect poor Vikash to report to camp healthy and with a degree of fitness, crucial requirements which he seems to have somehow missed. And now, thanks to a special We Can Dump You For Two Months If You Turn Up Fat And Useless clause in Dhorasoo’s contract, it’s being reported that he’s moments from being without a club. Yes, again.

One feels sorry for the guy, I suppose, but it’s not as if he doesn’t bring these things on himself. I assume he read his contract and knew what was expected of him — what, exactly, did he think would happen when he showed up out of shape? Ah well. At least he can focus on the movie career now.

Note: That’s it for me, I’m off to London to see Inter, but hopefully will check in with a post or two over the weekend. If anything happens with Bobo or this Parma drug raid thing, rest assured I’m mentally all over it.

Who doesn’t love a good musk ox on a Friday? Apart from Livorno, I mean.

Not really related, but as you know, Eriksson brought Bianchi to Manchester City and after this

episode that you reported, there are now rumours about him going after Chiellini. That kind of dirty investor money we see now in Man City money is going to be a cancer on the sport, good players going to mid-table EPL teams not even in the UEFA cup because Fiorentina, Roma etc can’t match their wages.
It was bad enough that Muntari went on a lateral move to Portsmouth, which also has a rich sugar daddy, just not that rich.

rickard, I agree with everything you said except for one thing: Udine to Pompey being a lateral move. When you look at the two in terms of relative position I absolutely see your point. But Udinese was 6 pts from relegation and Pompey was 2pts from the UEFA Cup. And Pompey has been making additions, while Udinese lost Muntari and Iaquinta, with Fab Quags replacing Vincenzo.

Udinese seems to be stagnating while Pompey seems to be moving up. Due to money, of course. Plus Udinese is supposedly struggling financially. I dunno, from an objective viewpoint Pompey seems like a much better team right now.

But yeah, your points are pretty on target.
