Emerson: Who Needs Logic When You Have Irrational Rage?
By: Martha | April 6th, 2007
In an interview on Italian TV yesterday, Real Madrid’s Brazilian midfielder Emerson — who, you may recall, fled from Turin when Juve were relegated last summer — launched a completely bizarre attack on a pair of his former teammates who also left Juve for greener pastures over the summer.
In Emerson’s mind, you see, when he left the club, it was OK because he went to Spain and, in so doing, somehow showed respect for the Old Lady. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira, on the other hand, are a pair of bastards, not because they left, but because they went to Inter. Which, in theory, makes a bit of sense, since going to the club that got the Scudetto you helped win probably does sting a little bit. But, really, isnt’ this just splitting hairs? Emerson, dude, you were just as disloyal as they were! You can say things like “Seeing Juventus play in Serie B is a disaster and the demotion was terrible” as much as you want, but the reality of the situation is that you’re off in Spain, playing at the highest level (albeit not happily but, you know, those are the breaks) — sort of like Ibra and Vieira are doing in Italy.
Sounds to me like Emerson is just bummed out that his time in Spain has been such a struggle, and is sowing some sour grapes at the fact that two of his former teammates have landed so fully on their feet. And it’s a bummer that he’s being such a turd about it, because I used to love watching him at Juve, and was just last weekend feeling bad that he was have such a hard time at Real. Well no more, Emerson! You’ll take your medicine and like it!

Does this guy even have a mind? Not only did he leave the Gobbi too but he himself did the same thing he is ranting about when he left Roma. He spent more years there than he did in Turin and turned his back on the Romanista faithful by refusing to play until he was sold and sold to the club of his choice inside Italy.
Wonders never cease I guess.

This is the first time I’ve read this blog, and I have to say: I laughed so hard I nearly spit my Longtrail all over my laptop. Bravo.
