Kaka Tortures Real Just By Getting Confused
By: Martha | August 3rd, 2007
As you may have heard, AC Milan are in Moscow right now — they’re taking part in the rather flash Russian Railway Cup, along with PSV Eindhoven, Lokomotiv Moscow and a little club called Real Madrid. (Actually Milan’s first game just ended; they lost to PSV 4-3 in PKs after a scoreless game. Which, since Milan have zero strikers at the tournament, isn’t exactly surprising.)
When Milan arrived at the airport yesterday, Real also were just landing and, because apparently things can get chaotic in airports even when you’re one of the biggest football teams in the world (It’s sort of reassuring that you can’t just buy travel sanity.), a few of the Milan players — namely Kaka, Cafu, and Rino Gattuso — got a little lost trying to find the team bus. So, like any millionaire footballers, they just clambered onto the first luxury coach they found. The problem was, however, that it wasn’t theirs. Oops.
Yes, the Real directors must have thought they’d died and gone to heaven when they saw The Great Kaka climb onto their team bus like he owned the place. Disappointingly, though, no kidnappings were attempted. Instead, everyone laughed heartily at the error, did some hand-shaking and schmoozing, and the Milan trio wandered off, chuckling wisely about the craziness of life. (One assumes they found the proper bus, but since that information isn’t actually included in any of the articles I can find, it’s possible they’re still wandering the streets outside the Moscow airport.)
Frankly, I’m stunned (and a bit disappointed) the Spanish press aren’t portraying this as a revelation of Kaka’s true desires, and a frantic attempt to escape from the club who are so cruelly keeping him from going to Madrid. Clearly they’ve lost their edge. (At least in their articles on the mix-up, they pretend Cafu and Gattuso weren’t there. That’s something, I guess.)
