Odds n Ends as You Try Not to Imagine Bobo in 9 1/2 Weeks

Notice, please, that he has his shirt ON.•I did NOT make that up, by the way. One of the unofficial Fiorentina sites has lost its damn mind.

•After nearly two months of wandering in the transfer desert, temporarily-Roma winger Christian Wilhelmsson has finally found a new home: He’s reportedly headed to Bolton on (another) loan from Nantes.

•We’ll supposedly know by the middle of next week where Brazilian boy wonder Pato will be playing next year. Remember, he won’t be eligible to play abroad until next January, but he’ll apparently make a decision (and thereby break the hearts of all but one of four Big Clubs chasing him) within the next few days. To review, as far as we know, his choices are: Milan, Inter, Real Madrid and Chelsea, one of which will have the great honor of paying about €25 million for the kid’s services.

•He may be having some minor legal issues, but whatever — that doesn’t mean Luciano Moggi can’t play a football coach in a movie.

•Having successfully scored massive media attention (if not an actual audience) with the addition of David Beckham, MLS have now apparently approached Milan about Ronaldo. In response, the club are “dithering.” Why am I not surprised? (Supposedly it’s to do with the possibility of having to open up a non-EU spot if certain mysterious negotiations go well, but I’m thinking it’s more to do with Silvio Berlisconi loving attention too much to say “no” to anyone.)

•Unable to even train with the first team at Inter (and this is with seven or eight Primavera players currently playing with the big boys — talk about an insult), Francesco Coco looks set to go out on loan yet again, this time away from Italy. According to Coco himself, his most likely destination are Spain (Deportivo La Coruna are interested) are France (where he’s supposedly had contact with two clubs).

•After hours spent beating the bushes for rumors and obscure facts, La Gazzetta dello Sport have decided that Milan’s mysterious, non-EU target is probably Barcelona’s Thiago Motta: According to La Gazzetta, he could be had for about €7 million, and is considered expendable by Barca. If this is true, it seems shockingly rational for Milan — a sign of sanity, even, which in and of itself is disconcerting.

•”Zlatan,” apparently, means “gold.” Well, I mean, was there ever any doubt?

Just when Ronaldo lost his extra weight, they might send him to the Land of Donuts and Fast Food?
