Since I’m Ignoring Chivu, Let’s Talk Canna Rumors!

All of these “He’s going here! No, he’s going there!” rumors about Cristian Chivu that come to nothing are bugging the crap out of me, but since the identical stories about Fabio Cannavaro are newer, they’re easier to stomach, at least for now. (Give it another 24 hours, of course, and we’ll all be hating those, too.)
The rumors about Canna coming home to Italy were swirling even before the La Liga season ended, basically because he had a generally unimpressive season, and it was assumed that Real would be willing to let him go if the right offer was made. Though no one knows what that offer might be, the stories about a Triumphant Return to Juve have done nothing but escalate since the departure of Don Capello, and it’s being reported today in Spain that Juve reps are actually in Madrid to talk terms with Real personnel. That, combined with the Italian press’ claim last week that the Turin club had already agreed personal terms (an alleged two-year deal worth €5 million/year) with Canna leads one to believe that he’s very much on his way home.
Or not. Since Juve president Cobolli Gigli just today made a Canna-free tranfer market statement (despite mentioning that the club’s single remaining goal is a central defender) and was also warned about his lofty spending, it’s hard to believe they’re about to bring in and pay a very costly world champion. Oh, and there’s also the story that Canna is being offered to Roma (though I can’t imagine how they could pay him, either) as part of the Chivu deal.
So, to sum up: Take the Chivu stories, replace “Chivu” with “Canna,” “Romanian” with “Italian” and “Roma” with “Juve,” mix them around a bit, and you end up in exactly the same place: No one knows anything.

also i really hope that canna does come home because i think he belongs at juve…he has said that the best two years of his career was at juve so in the end he should return…screw all that champions league crap ok i mean if i were in his position i would switch if the club let me…
hopefully real get chivu or milito who they could pair with meltzelder(sp?) and therefore have no use for poor fabio who would then have a place to run to…juve:DPosted from
