The Buffon-to-Milan Rumor is Back
By: Martha | April 26th, 2007
When Milan gave Dida an extension through 2010, the assumption the club would spend all summer as part of the fleet of teams trying to sign Gigi Buffon was blown out of the water, and they dropped out of the Buffon stories. For a while, anyway — whether it’s because of Dida’s shaky showing against Man U earlier this week or if the club always saw his future as simply as a well-paid number two, the Milan are once again in the Gigi chase. Allegedly.
According to a report in today’s Il Corriere dello Sport, the Azzurri keeper has already sorted out his future with Juve, offering them a promise he won’t go to Inter (and thus make himself a lynching target for Juve fans) and essentially agreeing to go to Milan. Milan, for their part, are supposedly preparing to offer both £25 million and Christian Abbiati in exchange for Buffon — this despite yesterday’s report that the Turin club won’t let him go for less than twice that fee. For what it’s worth, former Juve supremo Luciano Moggi — who may or may not have inside dirt on what’s going on at Milan — said yesterday he, too, believes Buffon is headed to the red side of Milan, with Abbiati ending up in Turin.
Well, either that or he’s going to Real. Hell, if even his finance fiancée doesn’t know what’s going on with Gigi, how can the rest of us expect to figure it out?

Google translate, always entertaining. I assume you meant “fiance” in that last sentence Martha. Unless Alena is also Gigi’s financial adviser. My favorite part of their translation is the date. “24 you open them the 2007″.
