The Ever-Changing Juve Transfer Drama
By: Martha | January 22nd, 2008
Just a couple of weeks ago, Juve were hot and heavy after Liverpool’s Momo Sissoko. Then, it looked as if their interested had faded, and they were content to bring in Olof Mellberg from Aston Villa in June, rather than rush into anything right now. But, in the last 24 hours, everything has changed again, with a rush for Mellberg and and the Sissoko deal again on the table, this time with apparent urgency: Juve’s Alessio Secco is supposedly in England as we speak, and it’s being reported that it could be just a matter of hours before the defensive midfielder is officially a Juventus player (if he is, in fact, Turin-bound.).
On the outgoing front, meanwhile, we have even more rumored destinations for Tiago who, if he gets through all this emotionally unscathed, is a trooper and a half. According to the latest in the Italian, English and Spanish press, he’s between Spurs, Benfica and Atletico Madrid, the latter of which may also be sniffing around Sissoko, trying to find a replacement for the departed Maniche. Reports in Italy suggest that Secco could pay a visit to London during his current England trip, to talk to Spurs about their rumored €13 million offer for the Portuguese midfielder, a price which would allow Juve to get back what they spent on Tiago over the summer, and would therefore seem almost impossible to resist. Also in Spurs’ favor is the fact that both Benfica and, according to Tiago’s agent, Atletico Madrid are looking for loans deals, which won’t bring Juve the spending money they need, and also could end up lowering Tiago’s eventual sale price, depending on his second-half performance.
With the close of the transfer window looming and Juve’s defensive injury woes, it seems likely they’re going to add someone sooner than later, but I’m confused about the sudden Sissoko urgency. Is he strong enough in the midfield to cover up the losses to injury of Chiellini and Zebina?

To be honest M, my head hasn’t stopped spinning 360 degrees and i’ve been vomiting green bile consistently throughout this month’s tranfer market. I’m so fed up with this shit already, plus our injuries to boot, i’ll take anyone right about now… How’s your left foot M?
SPEND SOME FUCKING MONEY SECCO
Either our Board of Directors has him on a tight-as-fuck leash, or we need ADP’s agent/bro as our new Sports Director.

Roberto, my left foot is much, much better than my right, but it’s all relative. Were I transferred to Turin, I’d stand on the right one and use the left to kick Nedved. Will that help?
