Trezeguet or Tevez: Anyone Whose Name Starts with a “T” Will Do

Media reports over the weekend have been wildly mixed on the likely destination of West Ham’s illegal, troublesome and wildly productive striker Carlos Tevez, with about half of them sending him to Man U and the other half to Inter. Depending on which British papers you read, Tevez is either thrilled at the thought of playing for “one of England’s top clubs” or not interested in going to Manchester because it would likely be a loan deal, which he doesn’t want.
Disconcertingly, the general belief in the Italian press is that Inter’s first choice in the striker market is David Trezeguet — this despite the fact that he’s much older and way more annoying that Teves. Though at least he’d come cheaper than the Argentine, who is valued at €27 million. Juve, however, are still having flashbacks to the Ibra deal, and reportedly have no intention of selling Trezeguet to someone who could later use him to kick their asses.
Having been denied in Turin, then, Inter’s representatives turned their attention back to Tevez, for whom they were rumored to have made a bid last month. The idea, apparently, is that he’ll be a shorter, more sober version of Adriano, which sounds good to me. (Actually, anything that involves Adriano leaving sounds good at this point.)
Given how much Teves’ owners are asking, however, this seems a long way from over: Surely we’ve at least got to wait until some Spanish clubs start making offers, and maybe Roman Abramovich stops by, just for good measure?
