Zampa is Back: Down with Juve! Down with the French!

By: Martha | November 23rd, 2007

Mad ZampaSerie A’s resident crazy person, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, is at it again, this time aiming the barrels of his madness at twin targets: Juventus and, of course, the French.

Ahead of Palermo’s visit to Turin tomorrow, Zampa has been letting fly on the subject of the constant bitching and moaning about refereeing decisions that’s coming out of the Juve camp. (Go ahead, you can laugh. I’m doing it too — the karma is just too delicious to resist.) According to Mr. Crazypants, things are tough all over: “Palermo have also been denied three penalties in the last two games but you do not see us cry about it.” And, you know, Zampa never complains, not about anything. Definitely never when he thinks goals have been scored unjustly. Oh, wait.

The truthiness of Zampa’s latest rant slips a bit further when he turns his attention to Juve’s administrator delegate Jean Claude Blanc. He doesn’t actually know the man, but has questions about him anyway, based entirely on his ethnicity. No, he’s not Romanian — he’s French. And, you see, Zampa is “never sure about the French,” and would certainly never hire Blanc to work for his club. Sigh. The fact that his reason why the French shouldn’t be trusted is Raymond Domenech is pretty funny, but still — can’t the man go a calendar year without insulting an entire nation?

He’s nothing but a twat. If Anelka or Henry could join his team, he would sign them in the minute.
Italian soccer is already in a pretty bad shape, and would certainly like to be dispensed with that kind of declarations.

He and Ray Ray are almost like two peas in a pod, aren’t they? Delusional f*cks. I’ll admit Ray Ray is better looking, though.

Made of crazy, he is. I still think he and Uli Hoeness of Bayern Munich should get together and have a Made of Crazy dinner party. They could invite Domenech!

Zamparini makes funny reading. He’s a colorful personality. Just glad he doesn’t run my team.

I think at least 80% of Italian football-fans would love someone like Zamparini at the helm. He’s crazy, but he’s gotten us 3 top 6-finishes in three years.
