A Corini Petition? Why Didn’t I Think of That?
By: Martha | April 12th, 2007
Gaspare Anitra, a wise and just Palermo fan, has decided he’s not going to wait any longer for the club to wake up and re-sign midfielders Eugenio Corini and Giovanni Tedesco. Instead, he’s taking matters into his own hands and has put together a petition designed to force the club’s hand on the matter, imploring them to bring the duo back, despite their advancing ages (together they’re 70 years old).
Now, granted, this might not be quite the right time to approach Foschi (aka Gloomy) and Zamparini about, well, anything, really, but you gotta love this petition for its tone: Anitra and his supporters don’t even mention winning or playing in Europe — what they care about is the class of Corini and Tedesco, which is just awesome to see. In a team that’s been struggling since January with attitude problems, it’s great to see fans step up and let the club know keeping players who care about “this club and city, on and off the pitch” and exemplify “professionalism and moral character” is of utmost importance to them.
You paying attention here, Di Michele and Caracciolo? Nobody with any brains wants you or your whining around any more. Ahem.

I’m almost afraid to even type it for fear of jinxing him, but according to this preview, he’s likely to return.
