Adriano for Henry, Or: Best Transfer Rumor Ever

According to Italian TV show Controcampo, Inter have been in secret discussions with Arsenal for weeks, trying to convince the London club to take Adriano in exchange for Theirry Henry. BWAHAHAHAAA!!!!!
Ahem. Sorry. There are just so many thing wrong with this I don’t even know where to start. First, you’ve got Henry’s eminently reliable — and, I daresay, often magical — scoring touch; compare that to Adriano’s wild unpredictability, both on and off the pitch. Second, there’s Henry’s habit of staying quietly at home, far away from the tabloids — would you trade that for Adriano’s evident resolution to never stop drinking? Third, Henry’s play has made him a mainstay of his nation team, while Adriano is in the Brazil doghouse because of his moronic behavior. Etc., etc., etc. As far as I can tell, the only area in which Adriano comes out on top is age: He’s four years younger than Henry and might be seen as in his prime, while the Frenchman could be approaching the downward slope of his career. And, really, that’s nothing but speculation — Totti, Toni and Lucarelli are all older than Henry and show no signs of slowing down; no one would sell them just to get someone younger.
Of course, it’s not surprising people are talking about Henry moving to a big Italian club: He’s played in Serie A before, and the rumors of him leaving Arsenal see a bit more serious than usual this summer. The issue, though, is not whether Henry would work in Italy — it’s why the hell Arsenal would ever make the deal. Or, as Laurie of the France blog put it, “Arsenal would get what out of this, exactly?” Since the obvious answer is “a whole lotta trouble,” unless everyone at Arsenal has suddenly lost their minds, the odds of there being any truth to this one seem very, very slim.

Adriano is a brilliant player, but he coild never replace Henry.

David Dien’s departure does allow a little room for suggestions Henry might leave. After Dien left it was made clear that no one except the board thought it was a good idea. Players and staff voiced their concern over the move with Wenger and Henry at the forefront of the dissenters.
I think Henry is likely to stay if Wegner does and I think he wants one more season to try and win something with the team his built.
Also Henry’s injury from this season may concern the club and it might be another case of cashing in before your stock starts to bottom out
