Adriano Won’t Invite Mancini To His Parties; Is Out This Summer
By: Martha | February 23rd, 2007
Though of course it’s not been confirmed, the very loud word on the street in Italy is that Adriano’s absence from Inter’s lineup against Valencia was less about a lack of fitness than it was about a whole lot of inappropriate partying, specifically a weekend of birthday party madness that left the striker a bit worse for wear and the Inter brass more than a little pissed off.
As you may recall, this is by no means the first time this sort of persistent rumor has surfaced about Adriano, and it’s an accepted fact that the boy likes the nightlife. The problem, however, is that, skilled though he is, he ain’t no Maradona, and the club are reportedly unwilling to ignore his behavior any longer. According to the Corriere dello Sport, this latest hangover is the last straw and Inter are planning to offload the player this summer, possibly — get this — in a swap for Antonio Cassano. I’d love to hear those negotiations:
“You know, Adriano might be good, but he is a pain in my ass.”
“Yeah, welcome to my world — this Cassano punk gets on my last damn nerve.”
“I feel you, dawg.”
“Yeah.”
“Wanna trade?”

In one of the odder things to happen in my house recently (okay, that’s not true, but work with me), guess what just magically showed up in my laundry room one day last month? A Brazil Adriano jersey. I seriously don’t remember ever seeing it before.
My best guess is that my husband was in Japan after the ‘02 World Cup when they were trying to offload excess jerseys, so he brought it home for our son, who thought “Who the hell IS this guy?” and dumped it in a closet or drawer somewhere till he forgot to bring his laundry downstairs for like, months and had nothing to wear.
Although I’ve never actually seen it on his body. So maybe the soccer fairies visited when I wasn’t looking? And if so…Adriano???
I have no idea and this is 98% irrelevant. Just felt a need to share.

I heard they may try to offer Adriano in a swap for C. Ronaldo.
