All This Ibra-to-Milan Nonsense
By: Martha | May 28th, 2007
This whole “Ibra’s going to Milan!” mess started, surprisingly, when the normally circumspect Carlo Ancelotti dangled a Shocking! transfer target before the media yesterday, describing the unnamed superstar as “… one player who is totally above suspicion,” and refusing to name him purely in the interest of public safety — “If I reveal his name,” he said, “it’ll be chaos.” Mm hmm.
As you might expect, Ancelotti’s statement exploded all over Serie A and quickly combined with Milan’s pursuit of one Zlatan Ibrahimovic last summer, the striker’s lofty wage demands, and his recent dissatisfaction with Inter to insert the Swede’s name into the rumor; that led all hell break loose in the Italian media. (Luckily, no one was hurt in the frenzy. Ancelotti will be so relieved.) That story, in turn, when combined with last week’s “You Can Shove Your Scudetto Up Your Ass” debacle, further damaged the delightfully tense relationship between the two Milan clubs, with Inter supremo Massimo Moratti saying angry things about Ancelotti, and Ancelotti putting on his innocent face and pointing out that he never, ever said the word “Ibra.”
Now, while I acknowledged that Ibra is totally the kind of person who would move from Inter to Milan solely to force Milanistas to support the man they hate more than any other, it seems incredibly unlikely Inter would let him go, despite the current disagreements and his periodic descents into crazy. That said, stranger thing have happened, so who the hell really knows?
As it stands now, everyone is huffily denying everything, but, man — if things stay this angry all summer, those months without football might be easier to get through than we expected.

All I know is it’d make my Juve jersey with Ibra’s name on it look even more outdated. If I haven’t set it on fire by that time, that is.

There may be hate for Ibra from Milanista’s but their also tons of respect for the huge talent that he is. I do not think many Milanistas would be all that angry on the move even though it is a bit unlikely.

Oooooh Ashley, how dirty would that be? If nothing else, I’d make him the only person to go both from Barca to Real AND from Inter to Milan.

As a Milanista id love Ibra, he should have been Rossoneri last summer, inter is hopefully just a pit stop
