Anelka to Juve?
By: Martha | May 7th, 2007
Now that manager Sam Allardyce has left the club (Did he really quit in order to go to Newcastle? Has he lost his mind?), the British press seem to think every Bolton player worth his salt will also flee when the season ends. Among those players is one Nicolas “Le Sulk” Anelka, the periodic French international who has miraculously revived both his career and reputation at Bolton since arriving from Fenerbahçe last summer.
Anelka, who was reportedly considering a move away from Bolton (Which, since this is Nikolas Anelka we’re talking about, isn’t exactly surprising — he’s been with about 45 clubs over the past 10 years) even before Allardyce left, is desirous of joining a “big club,” a term that apparently fits Juve — or at least it will, once they get promoted. Reports over the weekend indicated Juve are willing to offer Bolton £10 million for their leading scorer, a sum that would earn the English club a profit of £1.5 million over what he cost them just last summer, and that Anelka is excited about the possibility. Other sources, however, suggest a Bolton win over Aston Villa next weekend might not only secure the club a UEFA Cup spot for next year, but also convince the striker — who apparently wants to be at a big club OR playing in Europe — to stick around for another season.
If Juve do lose David Trezeguet this summer (which, barring a major reversal, will happen), Anelka would be an interesting replacement, particularly given his impressive current form. Not only can he score — and do it on purpose, as opposed to Trezeguet, who just hangs around in the goal mouth hoping the ball will bounce off him — but he’s also French! What’s not to love?

oh Martha Trez doesn’t just hang around the goal mouth okay yeah he does but a certain Pippo does too and those goals are always fun and unexpected :P but in all honesty I don’t want Anelka at Juve I really don’t. another whining player is not what Juve needs, even if he is French. and you know of my fondness for the Frenchmen :)
