Atalanta v Palermo: Well, That’s Better!
By: Martha | February 25th, 2007
Apart from the first ten minutes during which Atlanta seemed likely to score about 14 goals, Palermo finally regained some poise and unity this week, leading fans everywhere to yell both “Woo hoo!” and “What the hell took you so long?!”
Granted, it was only a draw, but playing without both Di Michele (AKA That Little Shit) and Corini, they still looked better than they have in weeks, and a n entirely different team from the pathetic lost boys in pink who turned out against Chievo last week. Now, don’t get me wrong — Palermo have in no way regained that I-Can-Do-Anything flair with which they played before December, but what they’re doing now shows togetherness and desire, two things that had been slipping away over the past few months, and seemed totally absent last week. Whether it was being ripped by the club president, booed by the fans, or having their asses kicked in training all week I don’t know, but they’re showing glimpses of the team that soared to the top of the table earlier this season — the passion is back, at least, as is the quick passing and attacking mindset. Fingers crossed it’s still around when Milan come calling on Wednesday.
