Bloody Hell, Or: Suazo Back to Inter Now. Try to Keep Up.
By: Martha | June 23rd, 2007
Jesus Christ. So, just as Milan were smugly telling everyone they’d done nothing wrong in the Suazo debacle and Inter were pretending to be mature about the whole thing, we’ve got a new twist and the striker is now supposedly headed back to Inter. Steel yourself, friends, this is going to get ugly.
Depending on who you read, the about-face is due either to Suazo’s own long-standing desire to join the Nerazzurri (which was allegedly scuppered by Cagliari’s desire for more cash, not a change of heart on Suazo’s part) or the discovery of a clause in the Honduran’s contract with Calgiari which releases him the moment anyone offers £8 million for his services. Got that? As far as anyone can figure out at this point, the problem began when Milan came in late with an offer that was several million larger than Inter’s, and Cagliari chairman Massimo Cellino, apparently blinded by the cash, accepted their offer without any regard for what had happened just a few days earlier with Inter. Or, in other words, “Contracts, schmontrats!” Yeah, that’s a great way to do business.
Needless to say, none of this is over. As I said in the comments last night, next we’ll find out poor Suazo was secretly sold to the Viola two weeks ago for $32.50 and a pack of gum, and has to go there because of a Secret!Clause that was in one of Christian Veiri’s old contracts.
Edit: Or it might be closer to over than we thought. Apparently Suazo cried, which soften everyone’s hearts enough to pave the way for the Inter move.
Edit again: It’s officially over. For reals. Milan want to assure you they did nothing wrong, but they’re pulling out and letting the lad go to Inter. Whew.

damn, I really wanted Suazo. This sucks. But I guess now it’s an assault on Eto’o.

And, since Eto’o is now most expendable, it’s an assault that seems likely to succeed.

Cagliari are just a pathetic lot. When do we give away Esposito and Pepe? Might as well just relegate us now.
A disgraced fan.

I’m so confused. I don’t pay attention to transfer market goss for two whole days and I’ve lost the plot already. So is he really honestly going to Inter this time?

Lisa, it looks like he may have signed with Inter before the clubs had fully worked things out. Inter is where he wants to go, and everyone is now abiding by that signature, though it was evidently not given exactly legally.

suazo should’ve just taken up early retirement. hes going to be another wasted talent rotting on the bench at inter as they go winless for another 20 odd years…
