Brazilians Actually Going to Training (But For How Long?)
By: Martha | January 2nd, 2008
By some miracle, Ronaldinho actually made it back from Brazil in time for Barcelona’s first post-break training session (look out for flying pigs), and Ronaldo and Milan’s mass of Brazilians is on his way to Dubai, not shacked up drunk somewhere with Flamengo and Adriano.
All of this, however, may be only temporary: Ronaldo, in particular, has supposedly told Flamengo he wants a move, and left his agent behind in Brazil to work out a deal that, according to Flamengo VP Kleber Leite (the guy who said Milan gave them permission to talk to Ronaldo in the first place, an assertion that has been strenuously denied), will bring the striker back to Brazil in two or three weeks.
Other reports indicate that the club are urging Ronaldo to buy out the remaining five months of his contract with Milan, in order to make a move easier. Why he would want to spend that money when he can do what he wants come June is anyone’s guess, but the Brazilian club at least make it sound like they’ve not got that kind of cash (and plan to pay the big man, in part, by letting him keep his image rights). So, basically, Flamengo want him. Really, really a lot. No word, however, on what Ronaldo or Milan want.
Turning (again) to the Ronaldinho saga, it’s now being suggested that he’s going to see the season out in Barcelona. (Things there, however, aren’t exactly improving as, despite making it back after the break on time for the first time in three years, the striker’s picked up an injury is looking to miss at least two matches.) I know I’ve said this before, but why wait?! Barring a stunning turnaround, the price anyone (by which I mean Milan) is willing to pay will only go down — why not take advantage of the desperation of a Brazilian-loving team that can’t score goals, rather than hanging onto a guy who is already being left out of the side and, apparently, has more or less been given up on by Barca?
Last Milan post for the day. Probably. At least it’s not Inter, right?

Surprised you didn’t mention the recent Adriano stock car performances. Last I heard the Brazilian government wants to use him as a poster-boy for their next ‘Don’t drink and drive’ campaign…

It’s a good thing the Brazilian stars have no discipline or self-control. If they did, no other country would stand a chance at the WC or Copa.

Yeah, he lived so I’m trying to ignore it, Marco. Anyway, he’s been told that more prayer will fix everything, so I’m sure we won’t hear a single negative thing about him from here on out!
