Cagliari-Palermo: Holy Hondurans, Suazo is Fast!

How did he ever get to that ball? He was being tackled when Simplicio start running after it, and yet somehow he BEAT SIMPLICIO THERE, and managed to get into a perfect position to be taken down. Damn.
Really, while I’m sorry about the loss (especially on such a late damn goal), I’m not too disappointed on the whole. Down a man for a more than 45 minutes, Palermo continued to try to play their game, which was fantastic. They didn’t just defend and try to counter, but played with confidence and poise and kept knocking the ball around and attacking — pretty impressive, particularly without both Corini AND Simplicio in the midfield. There were other important players missing *cough* di Michele *cough*, but the absence of that twin creativity and hardness in the midfield is a lot harder to compensate for in terms of just running a game.
Also, did you see the agony on Bovo’s face after the goal went in? This team is not one of those jaded, top sides that reacts to everything bad with a sign and a dropped head. For the kids, at least, the shit is life and death. Awesome awesome awesome.
Anyway, now the game against Inter next week is even bigger, if that’s possible. (Does anyone know what the hell is wrong with di Michele? I keep hearing “leg injury” — will he be back next week?)
