Caracciolo Says He’s Leaving Palermo. Can We Get That in Writing, Andrea?
By: Martha | March 27th, 2007
In news likely to make the day of anyone who is even a casual Palermo fan, pain-in-the-ass striker Andrea Caracciolo has told the press — and I quote — “In Sicily I won’t play again.” (I do like the Yoda-style translation there, by the way. This is what we could have instead of Google’s automatic tool, if only they’d hire some humans to serve us.)
Well, woo hoo! Sounds good to us, Andrea — could we get you to swear on a Bible about that, or something? Because we’ve been wanting you out pretty much since January, when you first started bitching and threatening to take your marbles and go home. And that whole getting-sent-off-after-two-minutes-on-the-pitch thing didn’t do you a lot of favors, particularly since you forced your teammates to play a man down and Palermo lost the game. Punk. It might be different if you were actually productive, but since you’re not? Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
According to the endlessly petulant Caracciolo, he’s going to Torino, where he will reconnect with former boss Gianni De Biasi (who, presumably, doesn’t hate him like everyone in Palermo does). And, happily, there might actually be some truth to this — back in January, there were persistent rumors that Caracciolo had already agreed terms with Torino, so it might just be a question of the clubs working out a price. Assuming Palermo price him to go, the little bastard could get his wish as soon as the season ends. Fingers crossed.

Fingers. Toes. Legs. Arms. It’s ALL crossed. I don’t see why Palermo would want to keep him at this point. He and Di Michele don’t combine well, Cavani has shown he’s capable of producing, and there’s also Matusiak and Brienza, neither of whom have Cara’s attitude problem.

PLus, and let’s be honest here, poor Caro is harldy blessed in the whole ‘pretty’ department, is he. Face only a mother could love, and all that.
Why, yes, I AM that shallow!
*wanders off, muttering miserably about Amauri*

Oh, and apparently, he has said something about the fans jeering him, ‘despite my efforts (and) professionalism’. Clearly his definition of professionalism is far removed from mine…

Did he really? The nerve of that little punk! Professionalism my ass. I was pleased this morning to see that Zamp has not only confirmed Caro is leaving, but also that he’d have been gone in January were it not for the injury to poor Amauri. HA HA.
