Cherish These Last Few Months of Maldini
By: Martha | November 21st, 2006
The day Milan fans have dreaded for 20+ years is finally set: Paolo Maldini told the papers today that he’s going to call it quits after this season. And now, we will (briefly) pause for a moment of silence, to allow everyone to sit quietly and think about his class and brilliance.
Edit: He’s now being slightly more equivocal to the Milan PR people. Hmm.

I would just like to say thank you Paolo for your beautiful play on the field. Your comport on and off the field showed what a gentleman you are. Whenever your name is mentioned to your fellow football peers they only speak of you with admiration and respect.
You have cemented yourself as one of the best players to ever play the game and will be sorely missed.
Grazie
