Chievo v Inter: For the Love of God, SHUT UP!
By: Martha | February 11th, 2007
An unforeseen side-effect of the creepy silence in many of the grounds around Italy this weekend is that it gives moronic English-language announcers more room to make them game all about them and their superlatives. For example: Apparently entirely without irony, GolTV’s Ray Hudson expended so much time talking about how cool it was to be able to hear the communication between the players that he made it entirely impossible to hear anything but the sound of his voice. He also continued his well-established habit of preferring the game in his head to the one of the pitch, going on and on about Crespo’s thundering, post-kissing shot. Never mind that it a)was created by a handball, b)was at least a yard inside the post, and c)should have been saved by the Chievo keeper, who was slow to get down for it.
Sorry. Deep breath.
So, the game. You can tell Adriano is fit and confident by how deep he comes for the ball — for a lot of this game, he played deeper than Stankovich, dropping in to help create the attack rather than standing at midfield and hiding behind defenders as he was doing at the start of the season. And the outrageous goal with which he started the game was a good indicator too: He crushed a shot from way out wide on the left, beating the keeper and catching the far post to put Inter up 1-0 inside the first minute. It was pretty sick. Oh and Figo played, albeit for only about 15 minutes. I could be making things up, but I think he looked even grumpier than usual.
That’s 15 wins in a row for Inter and, though they had to work for this one (as is the case with a lot of teams near the bottom of the table, if they could just finished they’d be a serious threat), they still don’t look likely to drop points any time soon.

Inter just keeps on winning and this’ll make one hell of a derby later, a dramatic one I hope with 6 goals will be great. And (may be) 99 eggs thrown by Inter fans, to match Ronaldo’s new number.

they should have not canceled the game with Roma. Then their streak would haved stoped.
