Chivu’s Inter Career Off to a Flying Start
By: Martha | September 18th, 2007
As you may recall, Inter are headed to Turkey this week with about 1.5 defenders in their team, and rather than blaming the crew who got themselves suspended for that fight against Valencia last season, club President Massimo Moratti has decided to turn his rage (flaccid, old-man rage though it may be) on new arrival Cristian Chivu.
According to Moratti, Chivu is a moron (though he didn’t use exactly that word) for not pulling out of Romania’s midweek friendly against German, the match in which he suffered the shoulder injury that has him on the sidelines. As opposed to Patrick Vieira, who got hurt in a competitive match and didn’t have much choice about whether to play or not (plus he said sorry to Moratti, so everything fine again), Chivu, at least in Moratti’s mind, had a choice and made the wrong one.
I’d imagine those sleazy agents of Chivu’s will have him on the phone this morning to Moratti, smoothing things over, but all the apologies in the world won’t mean much when Estaban Cambiasso plays as a centerback against Fenerbahce. Seriously. That’s the latest speculation, now that Vieira is out. Super.

This is like when your girlfriend dumps you for the QB on the football team, only right afterwards she realizes that he’s a) dumb as a brick, b) only cares about football and smashing heads, and c) has a slight case of AIDS. And the smokin’ new foreign exchange student is smitten with you, so you realize what a selfish whore your ex was in the first place and you can’t believe you ever dated her.
Suck it, Chivu. You turd.

On the other hand, we finally get to see Zlatan pwn Roberto Carlos. I roar with the voice of thousands at the prospect! Er, not that I want Inter to win or anything.

Let Chris do his ranting Martha, it’s always fun to read. :)
On a serious note, Mancini should pull Sinisa Mihaijlovic out of retirement and put him in the starting line-up Wednesday. Wait, did I say serious?

Marco, what about Vratislav Gresko? Perhaps he can fill in at LB.
