Figo Watch, Day Two
By: Martha | December 28th, 2006
I’ve been busy shaking out my mourning clothes and ironing the black bunting for the site, but since yesterday morning there really hasn’t been any change to the Figo-to-Saudia-Arabia-Shock! story. It’s appeared in an increasing number of actual reliable sources, though, which is alarming in and of itself. After all, the BBC gets duped less often that Tribal Football, so when they report a story that once sounded questionable, alot of the questions fall away. What’s also a bit troubling is that the source for a lot of these stories seems to be Al Ittihad’s website, so either someone at the club is doing some wishful coding, or my man really is heading to the Gulf. Plus, the failure of either Figo or Inter to come out and loudly denounce these reports speaks volumes. Sigh.
Don’t get me wrong — I’m trying to keep the faith here, but things are looking increasingly grim. (Just so you know, if he goes? This will officially become the Serie A and Al Ittihad branch of The Offside.)
