Figo Watch: The Man is in Bahrain! I Repeat, the Man is in Bahrain!
By: Martha | January 2nd, 2007
The above photo just appeared on the Inter website. Take a gander, if you will, at the gentleman on the far left. He looks oddly youthful in the pictures, but if that’s not a certain Portuguese winger recently destined for a huge bank account and a few months in sunny Saudi Arabia, I’m a proverbial monkey’s uncle. What does this mean? Well, assuming Moratti, and Mancini are too proud to force him to fly to Bahrain train with the club for two days (or, in the case, of Figo, too proud to show up for two days) before he’s introduced as an Al Ittihad signing, it might just mean he’s still an Inter player. Which is to say, WOO HOO!
I think it’s time for a small celebration. If anyone’s on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, come on by — I’m buying.

Great about Figo! Too bad I can’t make your celebration. (But I could be there in six hours…)
P.S. Your current ad on this post is reading, “Bahrain airfare $755 rt.” Do they have your number or what?

That is hilarious, Laurie. $755 round trip? That’s totally reasonable. Plus, I do have a few vacation days saved up …
