Friday Podcast Awareness.
By: Julian | April 8th, 2011I was going to do a much more substantial post but I’ve had quite an awful week (rotated a vertebrae and then pulled my hip flexor). Instead I invite you to listen to the following Serie A podcasts that dropped this week, all featuring writers from the Offside.
So here’s the usual podcast roundup. We had some inter-club-podcasting going on as Juventus played Roma this week, and the AC Milan podcast returned as well. I’ve decided to just copy and paste the descriptions as they are for the new pods on the podcasts’ wesbite, in the hopes that those will be much more informative for you guys:
Fresh off of that spectacular Milan Derby, the boys discuss Pato & Cassano, the goalscorers that gave us the 3-0 win, as well as all of the other stars who came out that night for Milan. Leonardo would not like this podcast, but if you suffered his coaching at Milan last year, then you definitely will. The end of the season schedules are discussed for the top 3 teams in Serie A, and a dash of predictions for the Champions League, the Premier League, and La Liga round out the show. But mostly, it’s all about that fantastic Derby win that makes you want to sing…
O mamma mamma mamma
O mamma mamma mamma
Sai perché mi batte il corazon?
Ho visto un grande Milan
Ho visto un grande Milan
E mammà innamorato son!
La Magicast (AS Roma Podcast):
Julian and Alex take the show on with two parts. The first is a review of the Juventus loss with Aaron Giambattista, blogger for the Juventus Offside and great friend of the show. The three spend much time discussing the game, including the tactical superiority of Juventus’s wide players as well as the crucial role that Marco Storari had in the tie. Can Vincenzo Montella really be blamed for the loss here?
For the second half, Greg returns as usual as the new trio take on the Philipe Mexes issue. Will his injury make him more likely to stay or to leave, with Milan rumored to have set their sights on a different fullback? Udinese, which Roma play on Saturday is previewed as well. Finally as ever the show is ended with Twitter and email questions.
This show is a bit longer than usual, as the four of us had a fantastic time recorded and tried to leave most of it in. Much of it is unedited and, we hope, quite enjoyable!
LaMagicast can now be found on Facebook as well! Like the page for the latest on La Magicast and to keep in touch with the pod via Facebook.
Finally, Aaron was fantastic on the show and we’d like to link a few of his calcio-related endeavors. He blogs for the Juventus Offside, which can be found here. He also hosts a Juventus podcast called “It Ain’t Over Till the Old Lady Sings”, which can be found here.
It Ain’t Over (Juventus Podcast):
Visiting Roma without the three most senior players had the Bianconeri’s nerves jangling on Sunday evening, and it was no different in the pod where Aaron, Marco and Adam had to cope with the loss of our favorite Dane (sorry Frederik, but you’ve got time yet!).
Indeed Lars had gone to watch cycling in Belgium (as excuses go it’s as thin as Gigi’s flu) but we struggled on, buoyed by a superb win over the Giallorossi thanks to some great goals by Krasic & Matri. Both men were discussed, as were the two stand-out performers at the Olimpico, Marco Storari and… Fabio Grosso?????
Don’t laugh, just enjoy it.
Thanks as always,
Aaron, Marco, Lars and Adam
Serie A Weekly’s podcast. Lorenzo from the Palermo Offside and I both guested this week on the pod to discuss Palermo and Roma. Give it a listen!
Lorenzo Vicini and Julian De Martinis make a return to discuss Palermo and Roma plus talk on the Milan Derby and the Battle of fourth and fifth between Lazio and Udinese. Oops almost for Glorious Cavani and the Partenopei.
Given us a listen and leave comments for Kevin and Adam
Topics include,
- Milan Derby all Milan
- Phillipe Mexes injured but bags packed perhaps
- Pato loves everyone
- Udinese and Palermo step back
- no more Cosmi caps in Sicily with return of Delio
Players of interest include, Alex Pato, Philippe Mexes, Giampaolo Pazzini, Edison Cavani, Marco Storari, Wesley Sneijder, and Fabio Grosso!
As ever if there are any Offside pods that I’m unaware of, please let me know and I’ll be sure to include them as well.
