Goals of the Week: Giornata 3
By: Francesco | September 15th, 2009
Some nice goals this week. We’re still very early into the season, but two possible goal of the year candidates were scored this weekend. Samuel Eto’o’s strike vs. Parma and Giandomenico Mesto’s screamer vs. Napoli are joys to behold. Goals of the week after the jump.
Samuel Eto’o vs. Parma - The Cameroonian striker puts Inter ahead with this wonder strike. Balotelli passes it to him and he unleashes and unstoppable shot that sails into the upper corner.
Diego Milito vs. Parma - Inter go on the counter-attack and finish off Parma. The ball is sent out wide to Balotelli who puts a perfect cross to Milito and the Argentine striker finishes it off with a quick stop and deft touch.
Giandomenico Mesto vs. Napoli - The Genoa fullback receives a long ball from Marco Amelia, passes Cigarini by flicking it over his head, and then unleashes a laser that Morgan De Sanctis can only look at.
Jon Arne Riise vs. Siena - Riise is not new to scoring goals like this, and here he gifts Roma an important 3 points with this missile.
Antonio Floro Flores vs. Catania - Floro Flores leads the Udinese attack this season and he makes Udinese fans happy with this strike. Excellent stop and volley past Andujar.
Alberto Gilardino vs. Cagliari - Perfect cross from Vargas on the left, perfect header from Gila into the upper corner.

Great stuff as always. I’ve seen Eto’o score a curler like that before, beautiful goal.
