Goals of the Week: Giornata 36

By: Francesco | May 19th, 2009

It’s time for another post of beautiful goals from the peninsula. There were 32 goals scored this weekend, and here we’ll have a selection of the best of week 36.

Simone Perrotta vs. Catania – Mirko Vucinic does all the work to win the ball near Catania’s area, and Perrotta makes a perfect run (which he is famous for) and heads home Vucinic’s perfect cross.

Mirko Vucinic vs. Catania – This is how you play a 1-2. Vucinic touches it and makes the run, Perrotta gives a perfect chip assist for the Montenegrin who finishes.

Giuseppe Mascara vs. Roma – Free kick from just outside the area, powered home by Mascara. Great strike.

Massimo Ambrosini vs. Udinese – Perfect cross from Kaka and Ambrosini with a trademark perfect header to score the consolation goal for Milan.

Andrea Lazzari vs. Reggina – Denis Bergkamp or Andrea Lazzari? The Cagliari number 10 scores a beautiful goal showing his technical ability. Chests it down, awesome touch to skip around Cirillo, and a good finish.

Simone Tiribocchi vs. Bologna – Perfect cross from Tiziano Polenghi and “Il Tir” comes racing in and hits it on the volley, finishing beautifully past Francesco Antonioli.

Cristiano Zanetti vs. Atalanta – Zanetti doesn’t score often but when he does they’re usually nice goals. This one is a beauty; the Atalanta defense heads the ball out to Zanetti who takes it on the volley and unleashes a perfect strike that hits the underside of the crossbar and goes in past Consigli.

Inacio Pia vs. Torino – Pia is on fire in recent weeks and here he scores another with a pefect 1-2. Quick touch to Denis, who puts Pia through with a perfect assist and Pia finishes past Sereni.

Rolando Bianchi vs. Napoli – Bianchi puts Torino level with a beautiful turn and finish. The long ball is played in, great stop by Bianchi, and awesome turn and angled finish.

Alessandro Rosina vs. Napoli – The former U21 star puts Torino ahead with a perfect free kick. Short run up and great curling effort. Interesting fact: Rosina has scored 5 goals this season, none from open play. 4 from penalties and 1 from a free kick.

Ruben Olivera vs. Chievo – Another great free-kick, this time from the Uruguayan striker. He lifts it over the wall and it drops into the net. Excellent effort.

Goal of the week? My vote goes either to Lazzari or Zanetti.

Rosina needs to demonstrate more to get a big club interested…

That was Zanetti’s 2nd goal in Serie A for Juve, 2 weeks after his first. What a beauty.

As great as Zanetti’s goal was, Lazzari gets it this week. Not as classy and amazing as Bergkamp’s, but how often do you see goals like that? Bergkamp, Edmundo and now Lazzari. Brilliant.
