Goals of the week: Giornata 7
By: Francesco | October 6th, 2009
Sorry I didn’t get up a weekend round-up yesterday, it was a really busy day. However I don’t want to disrupt the weekly order so I’ll go straight to Goals of the Week. Last week was probably the worst goals of the week post of all time. I think this week made up for it with some quality strikes. Goals of the week after the jump.
Ronaldinho vs. Atalanta – Alessandro Nesta plays a great ball in to Ronaldinho, who with a excellent trap and finish scores his first goal of the season and saves Milan from another loss.
Michele Marcolini – Marcolini always scores a couple of these screamers every season. Awesome left foot volley that is too powerful for Marchetti to block.
Dejan Stankovic vs. Udinese – Stankovic puts the Nerazzurri ahead with this pinpoint strike that sails past Handanovic into the far upper corner.
Edinson Cavani vs. Juventus – Javier Pastore robs the ball from Felipe Melo and slides a pass through for Cavani who powers one past Buffon.
Francesco Totti vs. Napoli – Totti reaches Batistuta’s goalscoring record of 184 goals in Serie A with this perfect strike.
Daniele Galloppa vs. Sampdoria – The Parma winger caps a great team move by Parma. Three touches and then the finish from Galloppa.
Giampaolo Pazzini vs. Parma – Perfect header from Pazzini. Very difficult to do.
But I think the goal of the week in Italy goes to Pasquale Schiattarella of Ancona in Serie B vs Torino:

Ugh can we never have a highlight real with Carlo Zampa…most annoying guy in the world.
Also, there’s something very ironic that every goal has Italian commentary, except for Inter’s, which is appropriately in Brazilian Portuguese.

Alessio, that’s actually a big problem I face every week with goals of the week posts. It’s so hard to find Italian language clips of Inter and Milan goals. Youtube is inundated with foreign language clips of the goals and I have to sort through numerous pages of arab, portuguese, spanish, english, chinese videos until I find an Italian commentary one. And sometimes, like his week, I couldn’t find an Italian commentary video at all.

Search for Scarpetti. Usually someone posts the Inter Channel highlights.
I have no problem finding Inter highlights in Italian, although I have never gone looking just for the goals.

Haha I just though it was brilliantly poetic, I assumed unintentional.

what’s wrong with internazionale being an international team….maybe the reason you find their clips in different languages is because people outside of italy care about them.
ok fine, ill take that back, i dont want to provoke anyone
but its true, you should be able to find italian highlights if you search for scarpetti or recalcati, two interista commentators.Posted from

I have no problem finding highlights in Italian, those are in abundance. The single goal clips is where I find trouble.

Fransesco, if you’ve spare time, maybe you’d want to update U-20 World Cup as Italy just crash Spain 3-1.

All goals should be with Zampa as commentator. That guy’s magic.

The nicest build-up award has to go to Galloppa’s Parma! There were some dirty first touches going on there.
