Hope Di Michele Didn’t Have Any Money On That Move to Parma
By: Martha | July 6th, 2007
As recently as this Monday, Palermo’s David Di Michele was presumed by everyone in football to be just a few technicalities away from joining Parma. Over the course of the week, though, problems cropped up, and yesterday he was suddenly revealed to be a Torino player. Man, Palermo really wanted to get rid of him, huh? Zampa may be crazy, but he ain’t stupid.
I can’t find anything official about how much the player cost Toro, but he’s reportedly agreed to a three year deal paying him just over £500,000/season, not bad for a guy who is facing a ban of up to three years because of those pesky gambling charges.
Jumping right in to replace Di Michele is Fabrizio Miccoli, whose three-year deal with Palermo has, at long last, been finalized. Not only is he several dozen times cooler than Di Michele, but Miccoli is also three years younger, if rather a bit more expensive. Hopefully the pint-sized striker (I’ve been waiting to say that for so long, but it just won’t work with Ibra) will make everyone forget about The Gambler within just a few weeks.
