Inter: “Did We Say No Transfers?”, Or: “To Moratti it Appeals to Also Ljungberg”
By: Martha | January 11th, 2007
In practically the same breath he used to produce a firm denial of any transfers in Inter’s future, club kingpin Massimo Moratti expressed his (entirely understandable) desire for one Freddie Ljungberg. Not content to leave the love vague, Marco Branca, Inter’s director of sport, also got into the act, gushing about the Arsenal man’s mad (footballing, not modeling — one assumes, anyway) skills, and hinting none too subtlety that the Swede could be an idea replacement for the soon-to-be dearly departed Luis Figo. Said Branca, “[Ljungberg] has various characteristics similar to Figo and in the next few months we will look at replacing him ahead of next season.”
I’m no expert, but I’m guessing those characteristics are primarily a)age, and b)hotness. Oh, and they’re both wingers, most of the time. There is that as well. Yep, it’ll work — you have my approval, Herr Moratti.
