Best Italian: Del Piero… Making 30 somethings proud. Dude plays tough, doesn’t seem to complain, and could have shut it down and sulked after getting shunned by the national team (deservedly so after the France debacle) and, to a lesser degree, by Rainieri in the middle of the year.
I never was much of a fan, but watching made me realize that I should have been.
Best Foreign: Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Has the coolest name and was pretty dominant until the injury (and the Champions League). Plus, he single-handedly killed Parma on Saturday, sending my team to the Hell of Serie B.
Best Young Player: So many choices here… If Serie A can keep all these guys around, then it could return to dominance. Just for the hell of it, I’m going with Ricardo Montolivo here.
Best Goalkeeper: Frey. No doubt.
Best Defender: Chiellini (since he would have been my other choice for best young player). He’s Materazzi without all the shenanigans.
Best Midfielder: He was hurt, a lot, during the season but, when he played, Mauro Camoranesi was invaluable to Juventus.
Best Forward: Gotta put Del Piero here, again. He did it all this year.
Surprise Player: Marco Boriello.
Best Serie A Player: Del Piero… I swear I own no black and white striped shirts. The dude just had a great year.
Best Coach: (Tie) Di Carlo and Cuper… No really, though, Cesare Prandelli is the man here.
Most Surprising Team: Napoli
Most Disappointing Team: Parma. Not that they necessarily would have been in the top half of the table, but they had the talent to finish 12th or 13th.

“most disappointing player i mean he didnt have help but he wasnt exactly a world beater like normal this year: kaka”
This guy topped Milan’s scorers chart; topped Milan’s setups chart and got the most free kicks in the season and he’s still deemed here as “disappointing”.
The expectations are truly enormous.

Best Italian Player: Alessa Alessa! Del Piero
Best Foreign Player: Ibrahimovic. Only Inter player I’ll admit to liking a whole lot…because really, the man’s just brilliant.
Best Young Player: Alexandre Pato…Ale Duckie! One of the few very bright spots of our season.
Best Goalkeeper: Sebastian Frey. As the hilarious Italian commentator said during Inter v Viola…Ibra, Ibra…FREY! FREY!
Best Defender: Phillou. Yay Mexes.
Best Midfielder: DDR/ Ambrosini. First one, not much needs to be said. Ambro has hands down been the most consistent player for Milan this season, and he has done it all…badass defending, runs up top, dispossession in midfield. Another one of our few bright spots this season, acts as an excellent captain when Paolo Maldini has been out.
Best Striker: Alessa/Ibra. Both have been a complete joy to watch, even though Ibra has been plagued with injury.
Surprise Player of the Season: Marco Borriello. Rock On. Also, Vucinic/Vucigol.
Best Serie A Player (Best Overall, Foreign or Italian): DDR like it’s hot.
Best Coach: Cesare Prandelli, hands down.
Most Surprising Team: Juve/Samp/Viola
Most Disappointing Team: *cues Milan theme song* Meelan…Meelan…I’m sure the 10 or so other Rossoneri that posted in here can sigh along with me.Posted from

I can honestly say that I think all joking aside Mexes was the best defender in Serie A this year. There were a countless number of occasions where it was only him making the difference between a goal or not. Especially with the volatile DOni in Goal, he helped bring Roma a long way. Whether you are a Roma fan or not, you can’t deny his quality.

And final coment, after doing some excel work, Daniele De Rossi appears the most for any category as midfielder. Guess we are all in agreement there.
