Well, wasn’t that game just a black eye to the world of Italian football? Nintey-odd minutes of one team playing up and down all out atttack and one team countering, with… err… the counter in a style-vs.-style, nervous, intense game. How dare those sub-human foreign player come into this league and raise the bar of competition and excitement! I, for one, am supremely indignant…

Okay, sarcastic rant over, but I had to do it…

1. How dirty did Chiellini and Nedved have to play in this game to get a point? Figo, if you didn’t know has a broken leg from the “tap” that Paaaaahvel (Suaaaaahhhve) gave him to the back of the legs. “DIRTY HARRY” Chiellini got the Goon of Game Honors (thats right, the GOGH! Say it loud and thats the sound yo make when the GOGH! hits you with a shoulder and a fist on a header)

2. All that said, good result for Inter. Tie the tough teams at half of the top of the table away from home, beat the easy teams (Heeelllooooooooooooooo Roma v. Empoli) at the bottem of the table and yours another Scudetto will be, young jedi…

I am not happy with the result at all. Inter could and should have won this match. They should have put it out of reach by the 65 minute mark but Buffon did his job, kept Juventus in it and then they scored a very lucky goal.

Inter’s midfield was driving me crazy too. Sometimes they moved the ball so well through the midfield and other times just gave it away very easily. Frustrating as hell. Juventus played a very dangerous style of defending, but to their credit they played it well and their timing and organization was on. A lot of the offside calls, while correct, were extremely close.

It was a decent match. Inter had more quality chances and should have won. They tried to settle in defensively and got stung by lucky goal. I had no clue why Chivu fell. A harmelss cross that went in high and the other defenders were going to let Chivu handle it. He falls and Iaquinta barely manages to get a head on it. The strike was not very good but defelected off Samuel’s shin, thorugh his legs and bounced up & over Julio Cesar, who looked like he would have had it. BRUTAL! But they all count. The match was played with a lot of emotion and nerves. I do think overall Inter were the better team and deserved. It was 2 points lost on the road instead of a point earned. I think Inter will win the return Match at the Meazza!

Because that’s what Chivu does in big games. He’s the worst big game defender in Serie A, if not Europe, and has the mental strength of cheap china.

It was a good match that inter deserved to win in my opinion. Everyone played really well. But one thing that i really don’t understand, why did Chivu just fall to the floor like that on juve’s goal? Why didnt he pressure someone? I just dont understand what happened there. If anyone could shed some light on that for me i would greatly appreciate it. I didnt think Cesar had the best game. I would have preferred Solari in the second half. Suazo for Cruz was the right decision. Burdisso on instead of Dacourt, well thats just strange. I hope Figo and Maicon are back soon. But what was wrong with Maicon? I didnt see when he hurt his ribs in the match(thats if it happened during the match?).

Burdisso wasn’t on long, Jennifer, but I agree with you — I can’t figure out a)why Mancini is insisting on playing him in the midfield, and b)preferred him over Olivier Dacourt who is actually, you know, a midfielder, and is tough if nothing else.

Lisa, it was unimaginably sad to watch, all that self-control and depressing faux serenity.
