Monday Odds n Ends As Milan Are Victimized Again and Again
By: Martha | November 5th, 2007
•For the Milan fans among you, this morning I stumbled upon a fantastic gallery of screenshots of all the refereeing errors to which your team has fallen victim this season. Go check it out, and get your righteous indignation on.
•Cristiano Riganò had a hat trick yesterday for Levante, leading them to their first victory of the season. Unfortunately, Levante are dead last in La Liga, and Riganò is the only player on the team to score more than once (he’s got four goals). Their goal differential is -17 and they’re four points adrift of the rest of the table already, after only 11 games. Wonder what the drop feels like in Spain.
•West Ham are going to pay €20 million for Adriano in January? Sweet!
•Man City’s Rolando Bianchi has failed to settle in at the club and is looking more and more likely to return to Italy when the winter transfer window opens. In addition to being unable to score, he doesn’t speak much English and is apparently terribly homesick, poor man. According to press, Milan and Palermo are likely to be his most eager pursuers, the former for obvious reasons and the latter in search of cover should Amauri leave.
•Though both Francesco Totti and Alberto Aquilani are likely to miss Roma’s Champions League meeting with Sporting this week, Aquiliani is expected to be return to full training when the team get home from Lisbon, and will probably play before the end of the month. The people who know about what’s wrong with Totti, meanwhile, aren’t really talking; he could be back for the weekend visit of Cagliari, but they’ve been saying that for pretty much every match since he got hurt, so god only knows what’s going on with him.
•I’m pretty sure this banner isn’t racist, it’s just hilarious, albeit befuddling. Anyone who can explain it gets a gold star for the day, because I’m terribly confused — does the fact that “China” is in quotes mean something? Is it a reference to El Chino?
•For the first time this season, Ronaldo has been named in the Milan team for a match. Woo hoo! He’s finally fit, is making the trip to Ukraine, and could even figure in the match against Shakhtar Donetsk tomorrow.

Martha, the banner is just taking a shot at Inter becuase they have little Italian presence in their first team squad, hence the reference made in china, cheaply constructed and poor quality as a club! Thats what the juventini think anyway.

I thought that might be their goal, David, but wouldn’t “Made in Argentina” be a more effective way of expressing that particular distain? I mean, China?!

I think it’s supposed to mean that Inter’s 15th Scudetto was fake and cheap, and most fake and cheap things are made in China.

Because Lord knows all of Juventus’ scudetti were honorable and glorious achievements worthy of praise and reverence.
Where is that bucket? I need to puke.

Does West Ham really have to pay that much to land the services of Adriano? Who are they bidding against?
Inter would have to be absolutely giddy to get that much for their 5th choice striker. I still maintain that he could pull it together, but I’m not convinced West Ham will be that place. Think of all of the clubs in London for him to find trouble in …

Ugh, that banner really is distasteful
But 20 mil for Adri? I doubt he’s worth that much after all this…El Chino is doing quite well at Torino (and he wasn’t such a baby being 5th for all these years). I wonder if Adri would want to move in January. He did mention that he wouldn’t go out on loan, a move seems to be nice.Posted from

I was really starting to feel sorry for Levante: 10 rounds and only a single point has got relegation form written all over it. I’m glad they finally won a game.
Not even touching the banner.

‘China’ is shorter to spell than ‘Argentina’ Martha. And ditto Francesco for the fake and cheap Scudettos (the last 2 at least).

I love how Bianchi couldn’t be bothered to smile for the photo, it’s like he knew how badly he would fail before he even started…

Come on home Rolando. On a separate note, I hope Rigano does well at Levante, but it looks like they are heading for second division fast. Ya never know. Adriano to West Ham? How the mighty fall! Adriano will never last there - too cold and loads of long balls.

I love that banner. Especially because the holder (I won’t make any sweeping Juve judgements here…:)) has either never driven a FIAT 500 or has forgotten/isn’t swift enough to realize the relationship between FIAT and Juventus. I SURE that every title Juventus has is honest and on the up and up *cough* cough* HowlongwasMoggiatJuve?Right, thatswhatIthought, aswell! *cough* *cough*
On another note, good news about Adriano, maybe we can use the money for another midfielder… okay, okay I was just kidding. How about another defensive player or Goal Keeper though? Can never have too many of those…

“I think it’s supposed to mean that Inter’s 15th Scudetto was fake and cheap, and most fake and cheap things are made in China.”
“And ditto Francesco for the fake and cheap Scudettos (the last 2 at least).”
I agree wholeheartedly. Inter’s Scudetto were cheap since they didn’t pay a ref (or a ref delegator) a dime for them like SOME PEOPLE… I think they would make a Scudetto TOO expensive for someone like me.

That should read, “Inter’s Scudetti were cheap…” *sigh*
