Lampard to Bloody Juve. STILL.
By: Martha | June 29th, 2007
For a presumably apocryphal rumor, the Lampard-to-Juve one has impressive staying power. It’s been coming up fairly regularly since the winter transfer window opened — if not before — and the “facts,” such as they are, remain fairly consistent — an impressive accomplishment for something one always suspects is at least partially made up. All of this, obviously, is only intensified by Lampard’s inability to come to an agreement with Chelsea on a new contract. The longer he goes without one, the more convinced the media (not to mention other clubs) becomes that he might actually want to leave London.
Interestingly, though one of the key elements of the story’s current iteration is the prior relationship that Lampard has with new Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri (Ranieri is the one who brought Lamps to Chelsea), the rumor existed well before the Tinkerman arrived in Turin. What this means I have no idea but, dammit, don’t try to deny it’s interesting.
According to this morning’s The Sun, Ranieri has been told he’ll have money available to match whatever offer Barcelona — Lampard’s newest and, supposedly, most earnest suitors — puts on the table, no matter how massive. At the moment, Barca’s opening bid (assuming they’re actually interested in making one) is expected to be about £12 million, though that’s apparently a sort of training-bid, if you will, since both sides know it won’t be accepted. If things really get serious, though, a bid of £15 million might just do the trick. Given how much they’ve already spent (or are about to spend) this summer, it’d be impressive indeed if the folks at Juve could find that much cash to throw around; give it a week or two and we’ll see what happens.

Oh God please not Lampard anyone but that man. I can’t stand him and not because he plays for Chelsea. I just can’t stand that guy. and if he came to play for Juve that would be awful. please Chelsea management give him a new contract and keep him away from Juve, thanks.

Jina what are you talking about? Lampard is a more then fit player and put him in the center of the field he’ll do a fine job for Juve. Now im a Die-Hard fan of The Old Lady and this is probably one of the best transfers Juventus can do in my opinion.
Now if you think he’s some jerk wierdo snobb just think of it this way,’We lplayed with Ibrahimovic, we can play with any body.’Posted from

Marcello I know we played Ibra but at least he delivered. I’ve watched Lampard play for Chelsea and honestly he’s over-hyped, like most EPL players. his form is hit or miss at times and when it counts he doesn’t really deliver. and Juve need defenders not another attacking mid. we’ve got those in spades.
