You're right, Marco, I need to take notes -- things I was focusing on with 30 minutes left tend to be gone when I sit down at my desk. (For the record, I'm quite ford of all three Serie A Zanettis, even though one of them plays for Juve.)

And, Mike, the touch on that second goal was amazing, I can't argue with that. (But the color man was so draped all over ADP's jock that it was a struggle for me to say anything nice about him -- he's luck I got out as much praise as I did.) Regarding the celebration, there's a slight chance I had a fleeting wish for him to trip and bite it off. But it was fleeing.

(And call me an inveterate optimist, but I think Lazio have turned a corner on the sucking -- they woke up against Catania, fought against Real, and were good today. They're not the patsies they were a month ago.)

Grande Ale! Two beautiful twin gems both setup by Zanetti launches from the front of our defense to the Captain wide-right and marked by only one man.

Check the replays, especially for the second goal; the way Ale brought down the ball on a flying backheel at full sprint was just lovely... My heart is still racing a bit.

But despite the 3 goals we did not look very strong, and made the ugly sister of rome look good. Every knows that Lazio sucks, even Lazio fans. Lazio is a crap team, from their ball boys to their players to their president, and Juve did not have an easy time with them today.

For us to get back to the level of the greats of Europe, like Milan and Madrid and Barca, we need to dominate teams like Lazio from match start to finish. From what I saw today, we have a long way to go.

Martha, what do you think of Del Piero's "Michael Jordan Tongue" celebration? I don't think you've ever spoken out against it, but after your rant on "thumb suckaz" I'm curious to what you think.

Boy was this a joy to watch!! Attacking football end-to-end. Some embarassing defending too, but I for one (and many other spectators for sure) won't be complaining at the goalfest (AND the Juve victory, it goes without saying).

By the way Martha, good game summary but you lose big big style points for not mentioning Cristiano Zanetti, especially his absolute peaches-of-a-pass for the two Del Piero goals. I mean those were inch-perfect 60-yarder "here let me deposit this express delivery for your foot Alex" passes... Pirlo could almost take some lessons here.
