Lurid Cassano Fantasies from Florence (And the World Convulses in Horror)
By: Martha | January 3rd, 2007
As itchy as it makes most sane people to even contemplate, Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli is unashamed of the fantasies he has about one Antonio Cassano. In fact, he’s telling anyone who will listen that “he would relish the opportunity to help Cassano develop his ‘extraordinary’ talent.” Um, ew. Apparently during the few days Prandelli spent with Roma in 2004, he established an unbreakable bond with the volatile striker, and really wants to rekindle their relationship. The lad, you see, is simply a misunderstood “victim of his own emotions” who just needs some time to mature (Gee, when have we heard that before about Cassano?) and the right kind of guidance. Nudge nudge. Nothing is likely to happen now, though, since Fiorentina lack the money or stupidity to battle Milan over anyone as unpredictable as Cassano. Plus, what with Toni and Mutu running rampant, they’re not exactly in desperate need of strikers.
(Man. I have no idea what happened there — I sat down to write a post about how, since he’s successfully harness the talents of Andrian Mutu, Prandelli might actually be a good person to wrangle Cassano into shape and the next thing I knew, there was innuendo all over place. Perhaps it was the word “wrangle” that set me off.)

He’s going somewhere, that’s for sure–he was the only healthy member of the club who was completely left out of Real Madrid’s scrimage today at practice. He was forced to watch everyone else play from the sidelines even though he scored 5 goals in practice the other day.
And please, for the love of Figo, don’t make anymore vaguely sexual Cassano references. My fragile system can’t take it.
