Make Way For the Fat Man, Or: Ronaldo to Milan?

The giant mass of salacious rumors and delicious innuendo that is the Italian press reports this morning that (the fat) Ronaldo has “agreed to terms” with Milan. While this doesn’t mean he’s necessarily joining the club, sorting out wage demands are a big step and, if this news is true, it certainly throws the door wide open for a move. According to the reports, Milan have agreed to pay Ronaldo £4 million for what seems to be just a one-year deal. Additionally, he would hold full rights to his own image, something Real cleverly denies most of its big stars — they currently share those rights with Ronaldo, as they do with David Beckham. (Just so we’re clear: They share Beckham’s rights with him, not Ronaldo’s. That would just be weird.) The next step, reportedly, are meetings between Real officials and Ronaldo’s agent Fabiano Farah to nail down transfer terms — supposedly, those will take place today.
While this could always prove to be either a big lie or a total misinterpretation of Farah’s friendly visit with his buddy Adriano Galliani yesterday, it’s a potentially interesting turn of events, particularly if the deal happens now rather than during the summer. During his skinny days at Inter, Ronaldo was a wonder, and it would be beyond depressing to see him struggle the way Rivaldo did when he arrived in Milan via a similarly optimistic transfer several years ago. In the interest of an exciting second half, I guess we have to just hope Fabio Capello has totaly lost his ability to judge players (sigh), and that the Brazilian shows up fit and ready to kick some ass. As opposed to, you know, fat, lazy and useless.

If this is true we can look forward to some “gutsy” performances as he will certainly give more weight to the Milan attack…

It seems to be confirmed that Milan have made an offer other reports say he’s on his way. I’m going to assume this really has to do with Marco Borriello’s second sample testing positive. But fear not, as it wasn’t his fault…his girlfriend is stepping up with this information that can be filed in the way too much info pile… as the cream was for his penis because she gave him an infection by making love. She went on to say “I advised him to use the ointment but forgot it contained cortisone. Our sex session proved fatal.”
While I will be very disappointed to see Borriello face a two-year ban, what a way to go out!
