Massimo Oddo: Lazio or Milan, He’ll Bring His Dancin’ Shoes

Welcome, friends, to Week 401 of the Oddo-to-Milan transfer drama. The latest word is not good: Milan want the player, but apparently not enough to give in to Lazio’s asking price. Lazio, meanwhile, are highly unmotivated to negotiate over the amount, because if the deal doesn’t go through they’re out some cash but keep their captain. And, just to stir the pot a little bit, Oddo rather melodramatically told the press that this weekend’s match against Milan could be his last for Lazio. When asked about the statement, club president Claudio Lotito threw out the early front-runner for quote of the year, saying “Oddo said that Sunday’s game was his last as Lazio captain? Why, is he dying?” Well played, Claudio. Well played.
As for Oddo himself, well, all this just makes him feel like dancin’. And I don’t know much about dancing, but I am here to tell you that the man can move — if this deal goes through, Milan will be getting not only a defender, but also a man who can compete with the Brazilians on the dance floor. And that’s saying something.
