Monday New Roundup As We Ride the Zampa Crazy Train
By: Martha | November 26th, 2007
•Manuela Prandelli, the wife of Fiorentina manager Cesare Prandelli, died this morning after a long illness. I’m trying to resist the old chestnut about it putting everything in perspective but it’s sort of undeniable — it’s awfully hard to care about the table now, isn’t it? RIP.
•Juve and Napoli supporters are already banned from traveling next weekend, and they’re expected to be joined by those of Inter, Genoa and Lazio.
•Got a question for Javier Zanetti? Now’s your big chance. (I’m planning to ask how his hair is always so perfect, no matter the weather or the intensity of the match. Magical powers?)
•You gotta respect (I guess) Alex Del Piero’s confidence — he claims he announced prior to yesterday’s match that he’d score a brace against Palermo. There’s no word on if he can forsee anything other than his own goals, but the Juve captain is determined that his future hold a return to the Azzurri squad for Euro 2008 and beyond (but of course only at out-and-out striker).
•Gianfranco Zola ain’t talking about the England job.
•Champions League injury woes: Milan will be without both Massimo Ambrosini and Pippo Inzaghi, while Roma will be missing, among others, Francesco Totti and Philippe Mexes. It’s never easy, is it?
•Luca Toni wants to come home and score more goals, just not right now.
•Look out, Napoli: Man U want Marek Hamsik. Whether they’re willing to pay his alleged €18 million ask price is something else entirely, however.
•Kaka’s wife is prengant. Aw, a tiny, human golden ball!

Has anyone here ever used UEFA.com’s pay-per-view service? If so, is it any good?

Paolo, I watched a couple CL matches on UEFA’s pay per view last season and it’s pretty good.
Martha, you’ll be letting us know if Zanetti answers your question, yes?

Thanks Lisa!

Beware, though, Paolo — if you’re stupid like me and have Vista on your computer, it won’t work.
(And Lisa, of course I will, everyone needs to know.)

Paolo, I vaguely remember them having a test video so you could make sure it will work on your system before you pay.

Screw Man Utd. I love that Marino picked up this guy for 5 million euro from Brescia. even though he had an off day on Sunday against Catania, he can grow into a world class player. He’s a bit of a hothead and I actually like that about him too. The kid just turned 20.
Man U? Bugger off.

You’re a terrible liar, Paolo, but I appreciate the thought.
And well-said, Joe.

Gabriella Nesta is pregnant as well (again — Sophia is what, just over a year old?), so Milan is simply going to be awash with babies next year. (Gila’s Alice is due in January.) I keep waiting for Zlatan to pop up and say TIME FOR ANOTHER ONE just so Inter don’t fall behind.
