More Bobo Rumors to Distract Us From Chivu Nothingness
By: Martha | July 2nd, 2007
It’d be hard to imagine a day goes by when someone, somewhere isn’t thanking God for the greatness that is Christian Vieri. While most of the reasons are probably too person and dirty to detail here, today we are part of that group, and (sadly) for reasons entirely suitable for a family audience: He’s got another rumored destination for us to talk about while we’re sitting around, waiting for someone to pull the damn trigger on Chivu already.
Just to review, since Vieri’s release by Atalanta, he’s been thought to be headed to Palermo (Yay!), Genoa (Boo!), Roma (Though that’s only in Chris’ head.) and Tottenham, rumors that have come and gone with very little comment from anyone at the clubs, and nothing whatsoever from Bobo himself. And now, just today, he’s being connected with a switch to — wait for it — Manchester City. You know, where all the party boys hope they’ll one day get to play.
While the odds are very good this is all made up, at least there’s some logic behind it — way back in the late 1990s, Bobo played for Sven Goran-Eriksson (aka the man who will soon be Man City’s new boss) at Lazio, and they apparently didn’t hate one another. So, what better way for Sven to kick things up a few notches at his new club — not to mention Manchester’s social scene which, let’s face it, has really sort of faded since Bez turned 40 — than to bring in a aging genius striker and playboy? It’s a win-win for club and city!

In my defense, Roma was linked to Bobo about a month ago. Come on, he’d be on a free transfer. That’s Roma material right there. So ha!
And who are you to speak. You like RAT TAILS.

what, no sarcastic aside on the link to Tottenham? Don’t hate. I think poor innocent Berbatov would blush himself to death just being on the same field as bobo, so i’m glad that’s not actually happening.
As ridiculous as the idea of him playing in ManCity may be, the antics he and dirty old sven could get up to together would make for some delicious off the field headlines..

Chris, I like Wilhelmsson and am willing to FORGIVE his hair. I’m not endorsing rat tails full-stop, just suggesting that mistakes can be correct.
And Ben, I’m completely ashamed to admit this, but the thought of Sven and Bobo out on the town together is far less horrifying that it ought to be. I like how you think, my man.

I’ve come to the conclusion that you and I need to have an offshoot blog where all we do is fight over Swedes. Imagine the pub and pandemonium that would incur as a direct result.

As long as I get Freddie, I’m totally in. Wait and Ibra. No, we can share Ibra. Email Bob.

Maybe we should just tell Bob we want to dually cover the Swedish Allsvenskan which actually runs through the summer, and then use it as a forum to fight to the death over Wilhelmsson’s rat tail and Zlatan’s wicked awesomeness.
If it happens, just promise me you’ll keep the Freddie CK ads to a relative minimum.

Yes yes, I will (try to) control my self. Jeez. The Ibra pictures, however, will fly thick and fast.
Swedish Allsvenskan, you say? I’m intrigued. Does anything even exist about this league in English?

I’m not sure, but wouldn’t that be even more fun if there wasn’t? Now that Wilhelmsson’s gone I absolutely need more Swedish anything in my life. Right now I’m stuck with a Fallkniven and empty dreams of Zlatan at Roma.
Can google even translate Swedish? And the Swedish WAG section could be utterly SUPERB.
