Newsie Bits For Napoli Supporters to Read As They Stay Home Again

•The Figo Wants Quaresma to Succeed Him at Inter stories are back again and, as was the case last time this happened, it’s not at all what Figo said. There have been no talks, but Quaresma is “proud,” and Martha is far too excited about the possibility.
•David Trezeguet is making noises about retiring from international football. As you may have heard, I am very much not a Trezeguet fan, but his omission from the French national team is a complete joke, and the urge to shout “OH YEAH? WELL I DIDN’T WANT TO PLAY ANYWAY!” must be nearly overwhelming.
•Luckless Antonio Cassano, healthy for about two weeks and coming off his first start for Sampdoria, managed to hurt himself in training and will likely miss tomorrow’s match against Parma.
•For the 15th time in the last four months, Mancini has assured the press that he doesn’t want to leave Roma. It’s just that, you know, he and the club don’t feel like talking right now, ok? SHUT UP, EVERYTHING’S FINE.
•Tiago Mendes threw a fit yesterday, angrily telling the press that he’s going to bail on Juve this winter if Claudio Ranieri doesn’t shape up and start to play him more. Needless to say, this didn’t go over well: Ranieri is exasperated, as usual, while sporting director Alessio Secco, who urged patience with Mendes just a week ago, has gone all passive aggressive, saying “At Juventus only those who deserve it get to play, and our trust and respect of the coach is total.” Take that, Tiago.
•Cafu is never, ever going to retire. (He’s turning 62 at the end of this season.)
